Hey! I’m back with another DIY Monthly Challenge along with some of my blogging friends. The January challenge is all about bins & baskets.
It is the perfect challenge to motivate me in the home office. In 2015, I have a goal of working in an organized space. No more papers flying all over and clutter stacked to the ceiling. This year is the year for organized binders and designated cubbies-for every piece of paperwork to be filed.
I am off to a good start, I think. For one, I organized all the little office accessories and I used some unexpected materials to create this home office organizer. And it is in my most favorite color palette-aqua!
It all started when I found these wooden goblets at a local thrift store. Goblet, did I say that? Yes, I most certainly did. I like the sound of it! Goblet.
Anyway. I knew I wanted to use them for some organizing project, but had no idea they would turn into the home office organizer! It was a simple process really. I attached the goblets to an old chicken incubator tray with some screws and washers. The washers were used to keep the wooden pieces from tipping and moving around. Think of them as extra durability.
Each wooden piece was painted with Annie Sloan Florence. Florence is a vibrant aqua, more of a turquoise. I have various shades of aqua throughout my home and in the office I wanted a bit more punch.
And why not use these cute little pouches, with an industrial zipper and grommets, as wall storage compartments? Aren’t they so cute! I love them to store my stationary and note cards in.
Stop over and take a peek at the holiday candy bar created for last month’s challenge. It is a great one for the upcoming Valentine’s Day celebration!
