Today I am going to show you how easy it is to transform a wooden stool with CeCe Caldwell natural chalk and clay paint. I am also announcing the kick off of the Fab Flippin’ Furniture Contest, so stay tuned.
It was such a beautiful weekend to paint. I have had this vintage stool waiting for a makeover. It was my childhood stool given to me by my mom. I am amazed at how it has held up all these years. It is certainly not one of those MDF stools from Target. We have those for the kiddos and then are showing a ton of wear. This wooden stool was painted black a few years back, but I wanted to freshen it up to use as a decorative counter tray instead.
Here is a before shot of the stool.
Materials:
CeCe Caldwell Young Kansas Wheat
CeCe Caldwell Seattle Mist
CeCe Caldwell Wax
flower stencil
paint brushes
rag
Steps:
The stool was painted in one coat of Young Kansas Wheat and left to dry.
Then a wash of Seattle Mist was applied.
A flower stencil was added to the top of the stool.
The entire piece was wet distressed.
Wax was applied with a rag over the entire piece and buffed.
And after wax was applied:

The stool isn’t much, but it has childhood memories and has stood the test of time. I love its new look. Thanks for stopping by Evey.

Good evening,
